 Dr. Black cares not only about the health and smiles of his patients, he cares about his community. By taking the time to volunteer and provide outreach, he has proven his value.
Educational Experience
When it comes to education, Dr. Black completed his undergraduate education at the Oxford campus of the University of Mississippi in 1980. He finished in the top of his class with his dental education at the University Of Mississippi School Of Dentistry in 1984. After graduation, Dr. Black opened his practice in Pontotoc, Mississippi where he has served his community since September of 1984.
Always Learning
One thing that Dr. Black has always believed in is continuing education in dentistry, and so has his staff. They want to provide you with the latest techniques and technologies and continue to study under some of the best leaders in dentistry. Dr. Black is currently working towards his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
High Standards
He has served in the United States Naval Reserve Dental Corps and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the Tupelo Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Caring About the Community
Dr. Black is very involved in his community. He has served as a Sunday school teacher, adult men’s group leader, and small group leader. He enjoys serving as a short–term dental missionary with his friends, Dr. Rick and Mary Ervin in Nicaragua.
Dr. Black and his wife are very active members of The Orchard—United Methodist Church. He has also served in an assortment of capacities for the local Boy Scouts of America troop, including being a Scoutmaster. In 1998, Dr. Black completed the adult BSA leadership course Woodbadge. He enjoys several outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, bicycling, and canoeing. |
